WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue center Fatou Diagne made the final roster for the Senegal Women's National Basketball Team on Monday night. The redshirt senior will represent the Lionnes at the 2019 Women's AfroBasket from Aug. 10 to 18 in Senegal.
Diagne appeared in 31 games during her first campaign with the Boilermakers in 2018-19. Averaging 9.1 minutes per game, she connected on 51.9 percent of her shots from the floor, including a 68-percent mark in Big Ten action. She hauled down 2.4 rebounds per game and recorded a career-high eight boards at Iowa. Diagne was also named Academic All-Big Ten.
Host Senegal will open the 2019 Women's AfroBasket on Aug. 10 against the Ivory Coast. The Lionnes will face Egypt in the final game of the group stage on Aug. 13. All three squads will advance to the knockout round on Aug. 14.
Diagne is the first Boilermaker to make the final cut for a senior national team since Aya Traore, who helped Senegal win the 2009 and 2015 Women's AfroBasket.

Due to her obligations with Senegal, Diagne will miss Purdue's entire tour of Australia.
