Purdue men's tennis fell 4-3 to  Wisconsin on Sunday.

MADISON, Wis. - Purdue men's tennis fell 4-3 to  Wisconsin on Sunday at the Nielsen Tennis Center.

The Badgers secured the doubles point in two matches, while the third remained unfinished. The Boilermakers' doubles team of Dominik Sochurek and Maksymilian Raupuk led 5-3 over Lenard Soha and Jesper Freimuth before ending unfinished. 

Singles play started off on a high note for Purdue with a victory at the No. 1 spot. Athell Bennett defeated Osgar O'Hoisin 6-0, 6-4 to even the score 1-1.

Wisconsin took the next three matches, pushing the score to 4-1.

Mateo Julio claimed victory at the No. 2 position in a nailbiter over Freimuth 7-5, 6-7 (5), 1-0 (4).

Raupuk's match also went into the third set for an exciting victory over Chase Colton 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (6).

Despite the fight and two victories in the third set, Purdue came up just short.

Purdue (7-11, 1-6) will be back in action Saturday at noon ET at the Schwartz Tennis Center to take on Iowa.
