Men's Tennis Sweeps Nebraska

Purdue men's tennis took the match against Nebraska by storm with a 4-0 victory at the Schwartz Tennis Center on Sunday.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue men's tennis took the match against Nebraska by storm with a 4-0 victory at the Schwartz Tennis Center on Sunday. The Boilermakers swept their opponent for the third time this season.

The Boilermakers (9-11, 3-6) came out swinging with two double victories at the No. 1 and 3 spots. At No. 1, Athell Bennett and Stephan Koenigsfest defeated Toby Boyer and William Gleason 6-2. Franz Luna and Makysmilian Raupuk secured the doubles point for the Boilermakers with a victory over Micah Klousia and Jon Meyer 6-4.

Santiago Galan claimed the first singles victory handily over Alvaro Moreno Lozano 6-0, 6-2.

Bennett defeated Boyer at the No. 1 position 6-3, 6-2.

The final Boilermaker point came at the No. 4 spot, where Koenigsfest claimed victory over Isaac Nortey 6-4, 6-3.

Raupuk led his match over Gleason 6-4, 5-4 before ending unfinished.

Luna led with a score 7-6, 1-0 over Chris Dean before ending his match unfinished, as well. 

The Boilermakers will be back in action on the road April 19 in Columbus Ohio, to take on Ohio State at 6 p.m. ET.
