FLACK: Slang word for "public relations agent"; best describes the role many talented folks have performed, in one way or another, for Purdue Athletics. From the early days of Robert McMahon and Robert Woodworth as publicity directors; to Karl Klages, Ted Haracz, Greg Knipping, Tom Shupe and Lisa Schmidt as sports information directors; to John DeCamp and Jim Vruggink as public relations directors; to Jay Cooperider and Tom Schott as associate athletics directors for communications … and the hundreds of outstanding assistants, interns and students who pitched in to promote the Boilermakers.
