WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue women's tennis (6-11, 1-5) hosts intrastate rival Indiana (13-8, 3-3) at the Schwartz Tennis Center on Saturday at noon ET.
 
Purdue's Silvia Ambrosio rose in the latest singles rankings to No. 30. This year, Ambrosio has been ranked every week, and she boasts a 4-1 record in Big Ten play.
 
The dynamic duo of Amina Mukhametshina and Ambrosio rose in the doubles rankings to No. 44.
 
Indiana's Madison Appel and Jelly Bozovic broke into the doubles rankings for the first time this season at No. 51.
 
The Boilermakers are coming a 4-3 victory at Nebraska on March 31. The match came down to the Boilermakers' Zala Dovnik and the Cornhuskers' Hayley Haakenstad at No. 6 singles, and Dovnik came out on top 3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-4.
 
A point in the Governors' Cup will be at stake Saturday. The all-sports competition between the Boilermakers and the Hoosiers is tied at 6.5-apiece with seven points remaining.
 
Series History
 
Purdue has won three of the last five matches against Indiana, including two ranked victories. In 2015, the No. 25 Boilermakers took down No. 45 Indiana 6-1. The following year, the Boilermakers defeated No. 40 Indiana 6-1.
 
Last season, the Boilermakers edged the Hoosiers 4-3, with big wins from Ambrosio, Alex Sabe and Seira Shimizu. Ambrosio defeated Appel 6-1, 6-3. Sabe claimed victory over Natalie Whalen 6-3, 6-4. Shimizu took down Xiwei Cai 6-2, 6-4. The Boilermakers also secured the doubles point with a 7-5 victory from Ambrosio and Caitlin Calkins paired with a 7-6 (4) win from Ena Babic and Dovnik.
