INDIANAPOLIS – Four Boilermakers have been selected to compete for USA Diving at the North American editions of the FINA Diving Grand Prix this month in Calgary and Southern California.
Ben Bramley (10-meter, mixed 10-meter synchro) and Greg Duncan (3-Meter) are slated to compete this week in Canada. Emily Bretscher (3-meter) and Brandon Loschiavo (10-meter, 10-meter synchro) are on the schedule for next week in Mission Viejo, California. Loschiavo is a native of nearby Huntington Beach.
Bramley, Bretscher, Duncan and Loschiavo were all NCAA Championships qualifiers and championship finalists at Big Tens this year. Loschiavo repeated as the Big Ten champion on 10-meter. Bretscher and Duncan both finished among the top 10 nationally in a pair of events at NCAAs. Duncan also won bronze on both springboards at Big Tens. Bramley was a bronze medalist on the tower at Big Tens and a championship finalist in the same event at NCAAs. They're all scheduled to return for Purdue's 2019-20 season.
The 2019 FINA Diving Grand Prix features nine tour events, opening Feb. 14 to 17 in Germany and continuing through the Nov. 22 to 24 tour finale in Singapore. Calgary and Southern California are events No. 2 and 3. Spain, Italy, Egypt, Australia and Malaysia will also host tour events this year.
