The Wolverines took the doubles point but the Boilermakers fought back hard in singles.
The first Boilermaker point came at the No. 2 spot, when Athell Bennett defeated Myles Schalet 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.
With the score 3-1, senior Dominik Sochurek took down Gabe Tishman 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 to bring Purdue within one point.
At the No. 1 spot Mateo Julio upset No. 46 Mattias Siimar 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 to tie it up.
The score was 3-3 all coming down to the No. 3 spot. Stephan Koenigsfest fought back to win the second set before falling to Andrew Fenty 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
The Boilermakers will be back at the Schwartz Tennis Center tomorrow at noon ET to take on Michigan State.
