WACO, Texas - Purdue men's tennis fell to No. 7 Baylor 7-0 on Saturday.
The Boilermakers (4-5) came close in securing the doubles point against the Bears (12-2), with two close matches. Dominik Sochurek and Mateo Julio fought hard, holding off No. 2 Sven Lah and Jimmy Bendeck in an unfinished match 6-6 (4-4). Maksymilian Raupuk and Athell Bennett almost defeated Matias Soto and Will Little but fell in the tie breaker 7-6 (4).
In single play, Julio matched up with No. 34 Little at the No. 2 spot, losing 6-4, 6-4.
Raupuk also played a ranked opponent, at the No. 4 spot. He lost to No. 117 Lah 6-4, 6-1.
The Boilermakers will be back in action March 13 to take on Quinnipiac University at 1 p.m. ET in La Jolla, California.
