LOUISVILLE, Ky. -
The Purdue men's basketball team went through its first walkthrough at the KFC Yum! Center on Wednesday in preparation for its Sweet 16 showdown with the South Region's No. 2 seed, Tennessee.

The Boilermakers practiced for about an hour-and-a-half, then went through media obligations before leaving before noon. Purdue will get another hour on the floor tomorrow before tipping off on Thursday at 7:29 p.m. ET, on TBS.

Owners of a 25-9 record, the Big Ten regular-season champion and the region's No. 3 seed, Purdue faces Tennessee, which boasts a 31-5 overall record and the No. 2 seed. The winner will face the winner of top-seeded Virginia and No. 12-seed Oregon in Saturday's Elite Eight contest. Tip time will be announced following the conclusion of Thursday's Sweet 16 games.

NOTES TO KNOW
  • Purdue is making its third straight Sweet 16 appearance – one of four schools nationally to reach three straight Sweet 16s (Gonzaga, Kentucky, Michigan).
  • Purdue's senior class, Ryan Cline and Grady Eifert, own a 108-33 record, the most wins by a senior class in school history. Purdue's 108 wins are the 13th most nationally during that span.
  • Purdue's Nojel Eastern and Evan Boudreaux and Tennessee's Admiral Schofield played against each other high school, while Boudreaux was an AAU teammate of Schofield. Boudreaux considers Schofield a friend.
