WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue men's tennis fell to No. 13 Illinois in a tough battle 4-0 on Sunday at the Schwartz Tennis Center.
At the No. 1 singles spot, Mateo Julio fought hard staying in the first set with No. 14 Aleks Kovacevic before falling 7-5. His match remained unfinished 5-7, 1-4.
Athell Bennett matched up with No. 31 Alex Brown. The two fought back and forth before ending their match unfinished 6-7, 3-4.
Santiago Galan led the second set over Noe Khlif 4-3 before ending unfinished 3-6, 4-3.
The Boilermakers (6-8, 0-3) will be back at home March 30 for another Big Ten matchup against Michigan at noon ET.
