WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Former Purdue All-American Ashley Evans was named Most Valuable Player of the 2019 Copa de La Reina after guiding Voleibol Logroño to its fifth crown earlier this year.
Evans, who recorded 4,124 assists, 1,087 digs, 454 kills, 99 service aces and 199 blocks during her career with the Boilermakers, paced Voleibol Logroño to a dominating sweep (25-18, 25-17, 25-18) over Dimurol Libby's La Laguna Haris in the title match.
Guided by Evans, Voleibol Logroño never trailed in the first two sets and rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the final frame with a 6-0 run with Evans at the service line.
