INDIAN WELLS, Calif. - The Boilermakers swept Idaho 4-0 in the first consolation round in the BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Tennis Tournament on Saturday.
Beginning the match strong, Stephan Koenigsfest and Athell Bennett defeated Lucas Couthino and Carlos Longhi Neto 6-3 at the No. 1 double spot. Santiago Galan and Franz Luna took down Bruno Casino and Esteban Santibanez 6-1.
In singles, Koenigsfest defeated Valentine Popescu 6-4, 6-2.
Bennett took down Santibanez at the No. 2 spot 6-4, 6-4.
Mateo Julio defeated Carlos Neto 6-2, 7-5 at the No. 1 spot to secure the sweep for the Boilermakers (6-6).
Purdue will play its final match of the tournament Sunday against Michigan at 3 p.m. ET.
