INDIAN WELLS, Calif. - Purdue men's tennis fell to No. 31 Cal 4-0 in the first round of the BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Tournament on Friday at the Indian Wells Garden Tennis Center.
At No. 1 doubles, Athell Bennett and Stephan Koenigsfest lost to Jacob Brumm and Yuta Kikuchi 6-4.
Maksymilian Raupuk and Mateo Julio fell to Dominic Barretto and Can Kaya 6-1.
In an unfinished match, Santiago Galan and Franz Luna were tied up at 3-3 againstJack Molloy and Mert Zincirili.
Julio played at the No. 1 spot in an unfinished match 4-6, 3-3.
At the No. 2 spot, Bennett's match against Molloy was unfinished 1-6, 6-5.
Galan was close behind Paul Baretto 7-6(6) in the first set of his unfinished match.
The Boilermakers (5-6) will take on Idaho on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET in the first round of consolation play.
