WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue softball opens its spring break trip to Florida with the FAU/FIU Parent's Weekend Tournament, March 8-10. In the sunshine tournament, the Boilermakers will match up against Illinois State, North Dakota State, Yale and hosts, Florida Atlantic and Florida International.
The tournament hits off a nine-day, 12-game spring break excursion for the Boilermakers. Purdue follows up with a single game against St. Joseph's on Wednesday March, 13, before concluding its trip with the USF-Michelle Smith Pediatric Spring Invitational in Tampa.

After decorating Purdue softball's winning weekend with a .529 batting average and three home runs, senior Jenny was tabbed Co-Big Ten Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Behan, who led the Boilermakers with nine hits and nine RBI, helped the Boilermakers post a 4-1 record at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic in Orlando, Fla., with wins over Bradley, South Alabama and Savannah State.
The Mundelein, Ill. native registered a 9-for-17 performance at the plate that included three home runs and two doubles, while also tallying a team-best nine RBI, five runs and 20 total bases. She also topped the Boilermakers with a 1.176 slugging percentage, a .600 on-base percentage and 15 assists on the field. The honor is a career first for the third baseman as she is the first Boilermaker to earn the weekly recognition since Ashley Burkhardt on Feb. 16, 2015.
PURDUE AT DIAMOND 9 CITRUS CLASSIC RECAP
The Boilermakers went 4-1 at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic collecting wins against Bradley, Savannah State and South Alabama. On Friday, Purdue opened with a 12-3 five inning lose to Bradley, but bounced back with a 6-5 win over South Alabama. The Boilermakers carried their momentum into Saturday with back-to-back victories over Bradley (4-2) and Savannah State (5-0). Purdue closed the weekend with a commanding 10-1 six-inning victory against Savannah State on Sunday.
