Women's Tennis Looks for Another Upset

The Purdue women's tennis team takes on No. 29 Tennessee on Saturday in Knoxville, Tennessee.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team takes on No. 29 Tennessee on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET at the Goodfriend Tennis Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
 
The match-up features four ranked players: Purdue's No. 17 Silvia Ambrosio, Tennessee's No. 121 Johanna Silva, and No. 9 doubles partners Sadie Hammond and Kaitlin Staines.
 
The last two times the Boilermakers played a ranked opponent they went 1-1. Against No. 12 Ole Miss on Jan. 26, the 4-3 win was secured with a three-set victory from sophomore Ena Babic. Both Ambrosio and Seira Shimizu defeated ranked opponents, No. 68 and No. 114, respectively. Against No. 24 Syracuse the following day, Purdue fell 4-3 in a match that came down to third set on the last court. Ambrosio defeated Syracuse's No. 43 Gabriela Knuston.
 
Purdue and Tennessee last met Jan. 24, 2013, with the No. 32 Lady Vols winning 4-3.
