LOUISVILE, Ky. – The Purdue men's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to Louisville at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Sunday.
Junior Stephan Koenigsfest picked up a victory for the Boilermakers, defeating Fabian Salle 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
Leading 3-1, the Cardinals clinched the match when Sergio Ramirez edged Maksymilian Raupuk at No. 4 singles in a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) decision.
In unfinished singles matches, No. 108 Athell Bennett was tied 5-5 in the third set with Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff at No. 1, as was Santiago Galan with David Mizrahi at No. 6.
Purdue (4-3, 0-1) returns to Big Ten play Saturday at Indiana. The match will begin at noon ET.
