THE TALKING POINTS
1) Purdue owns a 9-2 Big Ten mark through 11 games, the sixth-best 11-game, Big Ten record in school history. Matt Painter owns three of the 9-2 (or better) starts. This is the second time in school history that Purdue has started 9-2 (or better) in back-to-back seasons (2018 & 19; 1987 & 88).
2) Purdue has won 13 straight home games dating to last year, ranking as the 13th-longest streak in America and second longest in the Big Ten. Over the last 35 home games, Purdue owns a 34-1 record (loss to Ohio State on Feb. 7, 2018). Purdue's seven-game streak overall ranks 12th nationally.
3) Matt Painter now owns 311 wins at Purdue, ranking 11th on the Big Ten's all-time wins list and needing five wins to move into the top 10.
4) Purdue is back in the national rankings for the second straight week after falling out for eight weeks. Purdue's No. 15 ranking is the highest of the season and marks the 13th week in the top 15 in the last 27 Associated Press top-25 polls.
5) During Purdue's seven-game winning streak, the Boilermakers are shooting 77 of 180 (.428) from 3-point range. Purdue is averaging 10.6 made 3-pointers per game this year to lead the Big Ten. Michigan State is second at 8.5 per game.
6) Purdue has had five players score in double figures in two of the last three games. In the first 19 games, it had zero games with five double-figure players.
7) Purdue continues to excel on the offensive end, ranking third nationally in offensive efficiency. Purdue, Duke and Villanova are the only teams to rank in the top 10 in offensive efficiency in 2017-18 and 2018-19. Purdue finished second a year ago behind National Champion Villanova.
