WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue softball team opens its 2019 campaign with a road trip to Charleston, South Carolina, to take on Central Michigan, Charleston, Pitt and Virginia Tech at the Cougar Classic from Feb. 8 to 10.
The first pitch of the season will take place against host Charleston on Friday at 3:45 p.m. ET. The Boilermakers wrap up opening day with a 6 p.m. contest against Pitt. Saturday includes contests against Central Michigan at 9 a.m. and Virginia Tech at 11:15 a.m. The Boilermakers conclude the weekend with a second contest against the Hokies at 9 a.m. Sunday. All five matchups will take place at the Patriots Point Athletics Complex
The Boilermakers return eight starters and 13 letterwinners, including All-Big Ten selection Jenny Behan. Purdue welcomes 11 freshmen to the roster as well.
