ITA Kick-Off Weekend Next for Women's Tennis

The Purdue women's tennis team heads to Oxford, Mississippi, for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team travels to Oxford, Mississippi, for a challenging weekend against ranked opponents at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. The Boilermakers will play two matches at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center. The first matchup is against No. 12 Ole Miss at 11 a.m. ET Saturday. The second match will be played Sunday against the winner of Saturday's contest between No. 9 Michigan and No. 24 Syracuse.

Series Histories
The Boilermakers are 0-6 against the Rebels. This trip south is only the second time the Boilermakers have traveled to Oxford. Purdue last saw the Rebels on Jan. 20, 2018, at home. The Boilermakers fell 5-2. Other meetings between the two teams came Feb. 5, 2016  - in the first round of the 1996 NCAA Championships in Champaign, Illinois - 1978, 1979 and 1981.

Against Michigan, the Boilermakers are 13-45 over the past 58 meetings. Purdue's last victory over the Wolverines was in the championship match of the 2012 conference tournament. The 30th-ranked Boilermakers rallied from a 3-2 deficit to upset No. 15 Michigan 4-3, claiming the program's first-ever Big Ten Tournament title.

If Syracuse defeats Michigan on Saturday, it will be the first time the Orange will play the Boilermakers.
