WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.
– Fans of all ages are invited to Purdue baseball's preseason fan fest, which returns to the Mollenkopf Athletic Center in February after its debut was a big hit last year.

The free indoor event is again slated for the Sunday before the Boilermakers' season-opening weekend. On Feb. 10, from 3 to 5 p.m., Purdue players will be assisting with skill stations and other indoor activities for children. Players will also be signing autographs. Fans can take home a 2019 Purdue baseball schedule poster.

Last year skill stations included multiple batting cages, bullpen mounds and opportunities to play catch with the Boilermakers. There are multiple stations geared toward different age groups of children.

Free parking will be available in the "F Lot" located east of Mollenkopf and north of Mackey Arena.

The Boilermakers are looking to build upon a very successful 2018 campaign in which they won 38 games, finished second in the Big Ten and earned a No. 2 seed at an NCAA Regional. Purdue's 2018 schedule again features five home weekends as part of a 24-game home slate at Alexander Field. The home-opening weekend is set for March 29 to 31. The back half of the schedule is home heavy again, with a nine-game homestand at Alexander from April 23 to May 7 and 13 of the Boilermakers' final 16 regular-season games in West Lafayette.

Purdue's home attendance in 2018 exceeded over 23,000 fans, a high-water mark in the six-year history of Alexander Field for the second season in a row. The Boilermakers will enter 2019 riding a 13-game home win streak, which ranks as the third-longest active streak nationally. Purdue has welcomed back 17 letterwinners from the 2018 team.

Season tickets at Alexander Field are on sale now and single-game seats go on sale next month. A full list of promotions and special events at Alexander will also be announced next month.

Purdue opens its new season with a three-game series at Southern Miss, which won the Conference USA title last year. Friday, Feb. 15, is the national opening day for college baseball. The Boilermakers' home opener is set for Tuesday, March 12 and they also have home midweek games on March 20 and March 26 before hosting Penn State to close out the month.
