WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The No. 24-ranked Purdue men's basketball team closes out its season-opening two-game homestand by hosting Ball State on Saturday. Action tips off at 8 p.m. ET, from Mackey Arena. The contest will be televised on BTN with Jordan Bernfeld and Robbie Hummel calling the action courtside.
On the radio waves, the contest will be available on the Purdue Radio Network and TuneIn.com, with Larry Clisby, Rob Blackman and Ralph Taylor on the call. There will be no pregame show to accomodate Purdue football's postgame show following its contest with Minnesota.

Purdue is looking for a 2-0 start for the 12th time in 14 seasons under Matt Painter. Purdue will travel to somewhat warmer climates next week for the Charleston Classic, leaving Tuesday for the Palmetto State.
The Two Teams • Purdue opened the 2018-19 season in impressive fashion, defeating Fairfield 90-57 on Tuesday in Mackey Arena. • Carsen Edwards led four players in double figures with 30 points, while Ryan Cline (13), Eric Hunter Jr. (10) and Evan Boudreaux (10) all joined him. • The Boilermakers shot over 54.0 percent from the field and outrebounded the Stags by 15 to fuel the rout. • Purdue made 14 3-pointers, the most in a season opener in school history. • Ball State enters with a 1-0 record after blowing out Indiana State 86-69 in the opener in Muncie. Tahjal Teague scored 21 points with seven rebounds and Tayler Persons added 16 points and five assists. • Ball State was picked second in the MAC West division preseason poll. • Ball State, which won at Notre Dame last year, has eight players from the state of Indiana on its roster. The Talking Points • Purdue has won eight straight games against in-state foes, as well as eight straight home games against in-state opposition. • Purdue has won 15 straight games at home against non-conference foes. The last loss came to Villanova on Nov. 14, 2016. • When the Paint Crew has been in attendance, Purdue has won 45 of its last 47 home games (Villanova, Ohio State). • Purdue has won 26 straight games when shooting 48.0 percent or better from the field. • Purdue is ranked No. 24 in the preseason AP Poll.
