WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Invitational still on track despite rain in the morning. With several adjustments to the original schedule, the Purdue Invitational saw two rounds of doubles with four flights and one round of singles with six flights.
In the first round of flight A, Dominik Sochurek and Julian Saborio defeated Savrard and Gonzalo from Chicago State 6-3. Moving them forward to the second round where they defeated DePaul's Spanjaard and Casati. The duo will play Ancona and Kenyatte of Valparaiso tomorrow in the semi-finals.
In flight B Stephan Koenigsfest and Maksymilian Raupuk defeated Brandon and Nardelli of Wichita State 6-2. The duo moved to the second round to defeat Langston and Carvajal of Valparaiso 6-4. They will play Sullivan and Dickson of Butler tomorrow in the semi-finals.
In singles play flight A, Julio Mateo defeated Benjamin Slade from Cleveland State 6-2, 6-2. He is set to play DePaul's Tonejc Vito tomorrow.
Also, in flight A for singles was Stephan Koenigsfest. He defeated Ancona Brandon from Valparaiso 7-6(4), 6-2. He will play Brett Mayers from Marquette tomorrow in the second round of singles flight A.
Maksymilian Raupuk defeated Param Pun from Wright State in the first round of Flight B 6-2, 6-3. He is set to play Ethan Budiono of IUPUI tomorrow.
Julian Saborio played Danilo Kovacevic of Ball State loosing 6-3, 7-6(4). Saborio will play Ruis Pol Botifoll of Illinois State in the consolation round.
In the first round of singles flight C, Franz Luna lost to Diego Huttepain of Army 6-7(2). He will play in the consolation round tomorrow against Illinois State's Zacharias Rasmusson.
