QUOTING THE COACHES
• Dan Ross: "I think everyone just wants to race, period. The Black & Gold meet is fun because they get to race themselves and talk trash a little bit. It ends up being a pretty good meet. We don't do it every year. It will be very spirited. The next day everybody has to know they're battling for positions on the travel squad. You're always try to prove something and show your coaches what you can do."
• John Klinge: "I especially look forward to seeing the freshmen compete. They've been here for two months; they've been training, they're excited. There's nothing like representing your school for the first time. They get an opportunity to put that Purdue cap on at a meet is really fun. The Indiana Intercollegiates meet is helpful because it gives us the flexibility to put people in a lot of events and not worry about a dual meet setting."
