WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue softball team saw six players garner Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for achieving a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the 2017-18 academic year.
The six student-athletes included pitcher Molly Meenan, catcher Alexa Binckes, infielders Jenny Behan and Siena Wagner, outfielder Maya Hughes and utility player Tayler Wullenweber.
Meean led the group with a 3.970 GPA, while Binckes was second with a 3.820 in health sciences. Behan, Hughes and Wagner followed with a 3.640 in Sociology, 3.580 in human services and a 3.540 in pre-landscapre architecture, respectively. Wullewnweber rounded out the group with a 3.510 in graphic design/visual communication.
To be considered for the award the athlete must maintain a 3.5 or higher grade point average for the academic year and be enrolled full time.
