Purdue won for the first time in three games in Lincoln, Nebraska, improving its all-time series record with the Huskers to 3-4.
The Boilermakers were the first Big Ten team to beat Nebraska on its homecoming game, ending Nebraska's streak of nine straight homecoming victories.
OFFENSE
TE Brycen Hopkins five-catch, 103-yard receiving performance was the sixth game of 100 yards or more by a Purdue receiver this season. Purdue had just four 100-yard receiving performance in all of 2017.
Purdue played its most efficient offensive game of the season, scoring on all six of its red zone opportunities and by not turning the ball over for the first time in 2018.
David Blough completed 25 of 42 pass attempts for 382 yards and one touchdown. Blough was 11-for-15 for 180 yards and the passing touchdown in the third quarter alone.
Redshirt freshman running back Alexander Horvath recorded his first touches of the season. Horvath caught a Blough pass for 22 yards on a 2nd-and-19 in the opening quarter and then had a six-yard reception in the second quarter.
DEFENSE
Nebraska was held scoreless for 36:01 between the first and third quarters as Purdue scored 27 unanswered points.
Simeon Smiley recorded his first career interception, ending a Nebraska drive in Purdue territory with 9 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Freshman WR Rondale Moore totaled 163 all-purpose yards, his fourth career game of 100 or more all-purpose yards.
Evans returned to form after a difficult game vs. Boston College. Evans was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts (31, 25) and 4-for-4 on extra points.
