WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Boilermakers captured four wins on the second day of the Vredevelt Invite in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Dominik Sochurek advanced through the Flight E quarterfinals and semifinals. First, he defeated Daniel Langston of Valparaiso 7-5, 6-3. Then, Alex Guzha from the University of Chicago, 6-2, 0-6, 10-6. Sochurek will take on Fran Tonejc of DePaul in Sunday's championship match.
In Flight B, Maksymilian Raupuk took down Norte Dame's Paul Gota 6-3, 7-6 (5-0) in a quarterfinal matchup. Western Michigan's Kennosuke Nouchi defeated Raupuk 1-6, 6-2, 10-8 in their semifinal, sending Raupuk into the consolation round where he will face Nouchi's teammate, Matej Svjetlicic.
Franz Luna fell in his Flight C quarterfinal 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 to Butler's Aviv Ben Shabat. played in flight C, where he took on Aviv Ben Shabat of Butler. Luna defeated Erik Kerrigan of the University of Chicago 4-6, 6-3, 10-2 in the consolation semifinal and will play in the consolation final against Notre Dame's Mason Dragos.
