WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue's Franz Luna, Maksymilian Raupuk and Dominik Sochurek began play today in the first rounds of the Vredevelt Invite held at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo Michigan. The tournament is single elimination for both doubles and singles.
Play began with doubles for Purdue in flight A with Franz Luna and Maksymillian Raupuk. The two were defeated by Janya Sirous and Luka Soskic of the University of Detriot 6-4. Sochurek was paired up with Conor Somers of Notre Dame for his doubles match. The two played Matej Svjetlicic and Zac Faveri of Western Michigan and lost 6-4.
All three Boilermakers will be finished in doubles play but will see action tomorrow in singles. Luna takes on Mason Dragos of Butler University in flight C. Rapuk takes on Paul Gota of Notre Dame in flight B. Sochurek will play Alex Guzha from the University of Chicago in flight E.
