April 4 Update: Purdue and Oakland will now play a single game Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Thunderstorms and a tornado warning led to a rain out Tuesday at Alexander Field. Purdue and Oakland are now planning to play a single game Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET.
Tickets for either Tuesday or Wednesday's games this week can be Wednesday. Or those tickets can be exchanged for general admission seats at any future home date this season at Alexander Field.
A doubleheader was originally scheduled for Wednesday. If both games had been played, it would have been Purdue's sixth doubleheader of the season. That's already just one shy of the most doubleheaders Purdue has played in a season (7 in 2015) since the Big Ten switched from four to three-game weekend series beginning with the 2009 campaign. Prior to 2009, Big Ten teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader every Saturday of the conference season.
The Boilermakers are 7-3 in doubleheader action this season.
