ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Purdue (8-24, 1-3 B1G) looks to carry its momentum from the midweek win over Notre Dame into its series against No. 17 Michigan (25-7, 1-1 B1G) at Alumni Field. The first Big Ten road series of the season for the Boilermakers is the first time they've played Michigan in Ann Arbor since 2013.

The Boilermakers are coming off a big midweek win at Notre Dame (21-11, 5-3 ACC) on Wednesday in which redshirt freshman Sydney Bates needed just 64 pitches to earn a complete-game victory over the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame entered the game with the third best overall record in the ACC and the conference's top batting average of .313. Bates surrendered just one earned run on two hits and a walk in the 4-1 win.

The offense was fueled by Stephanie Ramsey and Alexa Binckes as Ramsey finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while Binckes finished 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and as many runs batted in.

Binckes is riding a seven-game winning streak into the weekend with 10 hits, four doubles, two runs and two RBI over the course of 20 at-bats. The sophomore has a .565 on-base percentage and a .700 slugging percentage in that span. Ramsey continues her breakthrough season with a .474 batting average over that last six games. Her nine hits in 19 at-bats have produced six RBI and led to four runs scored. She leads the Boilermakers in 2018 with a .319 batting average.

Halle Hixenbaugh looks to finish off a strong March at the plate as the starting shortstop owns a .300 batting average with 12 hits, five runs and two runs batted in this month.
