WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue baseball's home-opening weekend vs. Lipscomb at Alexander Field will now begin with a Friday doubleheader at 2 p.m. ET.
Friday's forecast is the best of the weekend and therefore the early change in an effort to maximize the chances of playing all three games of the series. The finale is now scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. and will be moved to Sunday at 1 p.m. if necessary.
Fans with tickets to any rescheduled games this weekend can use those tickets for general admission seats to any future game this season. One ticket is good for both games of Friday's doubleheader. Game two of the twinbill will start 40 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
Purdue Athletics is working to make video webcasts on BTN2Go available for all three games of the Lipscomb series.
The Boilermakers (9-9) and Bisons (9-11) have not played since March 2011 when Purdue swept a three-game series in Nashville. Lipscomb has a series win against Michigan this season and plays a midweek game Wednesday vs. Middle Tennessee before making the trip north to West Lafayette.
