ORLANDO, Fla. - Purdue (1-10) dropped its first two matchups of the Citrus Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex with losses to Harvard and Bradley. The Boilermakers were slighted 4-3 in the Crimson's season opener before being blanked 4-0 by the Braves.

The Boilermakers found themselves trailing 1-0 in the fourth to Harvard as an error extended the inning allowing the Crimson to pick up the first run of the ballgame. However, an error by Harvard in the bottom of the fourth was almost the difference in the game as Purdue was able to capitalize and take a 2-1 lead on the botched play. Harvard later plated a pair of runs in the sixth to reclaim the lead and posted a run in the final stanza for good measure and that proved the be all the Crimson would need as Purdue was only able to muster a run in the bottom of the inning.

Bradley was able to strike early with four runs in the first two innings against the Boilermakers. Kaitlynn Moody came in and delivered the effort Purdue needed if it was going to have a chance of coming back to win the game. The junior went 4.1 without allowing a run and was able to strike out seven batters in order to keep Bradley at bay in hopes of the offense stringing together a comeback.

Stephanie Ramsey continues to set the tone for Purdue's offense as she kicked off the day with a 3-for-4 effort at the plate against Harvard. She was credited with the RBI that pulled the Boilermakers within one of the Crimson in the seventh inning. She's now hitting .387 with 12 hits in her breakthrough season. She was hitting in the two hole for Purdue after serving most of the season in the bottom of the lineup.

Mallory Baker continues to swing for power as she registered three hits in four at-bats against Bradley. Two of Baker's three hits were doubles and she in total had four hits on the day. The junior is hitting .241 three weeks into her junior season however five of her seven hits have been for extra bases. Baker owns three doubles and a pair of homers, giving her a .552 slugging percentage.

Freshman Ryleigh Scott turned in a perfect effort at the plate against the Braves as she went 2-for-2 with a walk. The pair of singles give her 10 hits in 2018 and a .294 batting average. Both statistics are good for second best on the team.

Purdue begins day two of the Citrus Classic at 12:30 p.m., with an exhibition game against the Czech Republic. The Boilermakers then finish the day at 3 p.m., with Savannah State.
