GLRSA/Boilers FC youth soccer day and pregame tailgate; Purdue signs postgame autographs
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue women's soccer continues its season-opening homestand by hosting Indiana State for the first of the four Sunday matinees at Folk Field this year.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. for the annual youth soccer day game at the Boilermakers' home pitch. With the help of local club systems -- the Greater Lafayette Regional Soccer Alliance (GLRSA) and Boilers FC -- Folk Field will likely host one its largest crowds of the season Sunday. Admission is free for all fans all year at Folk Field. The Boilermakers are scheduled to sign autographs for all fans after all Sunday home games this fall.
The GLRSA/Boilers FC game has produced four of the top-five crowds in Folk Field history. Last year's youth soccer day crowd of 1,712 vs. Ohio State exceeded the facility's attendance record by over 200 fans.

MADDY'S MARCH TOWARDS MILESTONES
- Maddy Williams scored her 25th career goal in the season-opening win vs. Kent State. She's just the fifth player in program history to reach the milestone and first since all-time goals leader Jessica Okoroafo in 2008. Williams also recorded her 19th career assist on Hannah Melchiorre's first-half goal vs. Loyola Marymount. Next up, Williams can become just the fourth Boilermaker to reach 20 career assists, but only the second to do so while also scoring 20 career goals. In program history, only Lauren Sesselmann (56 -- 34 goals, 22 assists), Okoroafo (51 -- 35, 16) and Annette Kent (50 -- 31, 19) have had a direct impact on more goals than Williams (44 -- 25, 19).
SIZING UP THE SYCAMORES
- Indiana State is led by second-year head coach Julie Hanley, who was an assistant coach under Drew Roff at Illinois State from 2010 to 2011 before moving on to Iowa. Hanley is an Indianapolis native and was a collegiate goalkeeper at the University of Kansas.
- Purdue and Indiana State have played three times in spring exhibition games since April 2013, but have not squared off in the regular season since September 2011. The Boilermakers have not hosted ISU at Folk Field since the stadium's renovations were completed for the fall of 2012. The most recent spring game between the two teams was played inside the Mollenkopf Athletic Center.
- The Sycamores host Northern Kentucky on Friday before making the trip to West Lafayette. They defeated UIC 2-0 in their season opener behind a pair of goals from Reilly Teal, who had played in just five games since the start of 2015 due to injuries. Their top returning offensive player, junior Katie Wells (5 goals, 9 assists in 2016), scored in Sunday's 1-1 draw vs. Eastern Illinois. Hannah Sullivan, Brady Riley's former teammate at Fishers High School in suburban Indianapolis, has taken over as ISU's starting goalkeeper. Defenders Katie Sullivan and Kasey Wallace are also back after starting every game last year.
