MINNEAPOLIS - Purdue (17-33, 6-12 B1G) fell 8-0 in five innings to open the series against No. 4 Minnesota (46-3, 16-1 B1G) on Friday at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. Sara Groenewegen was dominant, no-hitting the Boilermakers while striking out 12 in the process.

However with two outs in the fifth, Damon was tagged for a solo homer that drove in Minnesota's eighth run of the ballgame ultimately run ruling the Boilermakers.

Purdue will look to bounce back tomorrow in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. ET with game two following at 4 p.m. or an hour after the conclusion of game one.
