WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The track & field teams are set to compete in the four-team Battle on the Bayou at Louisiana State University on Saturday. The Boilermakers will compete against Penn State, Southern California and LSU.
Saturday's action is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. ET with the field events. The track events begin at 12:30 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay. The meet is scheduled to conclude at 3:25 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay. Live results will be on http://results.deltatiming.com/lsu as well as on Twitter @PurdueTrackXC.
The women's competition will be one to watch, as LSU is currently ranked No. 3 in the country, USC is No. 6, Purdue is ranked 21st, while the Penn State women won the indoor Big Ten title. On the men's side, LSU is No. 7, USC is No. 10, Penn State is ranked 32nd while the Boilermakers check in at No. 46.
Saturday's meet will be scored as a triple dual. Each team will be scored head-to-head against each other individual team in a 5-3-2-1 scoring format, while relays will be 5-3. Only the top two individuals from a team will be scored in each individual event, while just one relay team from each school will be scored.
Big Ten Athletes of the Week Symone Black and Savannah Carson are expected to compete Saturday. Black, the track athlete of the week, is No. 2 in the nation in the 400m hurdles, while Carson, the field athlete of the week, leads the nation in the long jump.

Saturday's meet is Purdue's final team meet in the southern half of the country. The majority of the Boilermakers will travel to Louisville next week for the Louisville Invitational. The team also has a scheduled meet in Des Moines, Iowa (Drake Relays), as well as a home meet prior to the Big Ten Championships hosted by Penn State next month.
