3M Augusta Invitational Recap / Season Stats

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue senior August Kim earned her second Big Ten Women's Golf of the Week award Thursday after leading the Boilermakers to the 3M Augusta Invitational title last weekend. Kim took third, individually at the event, shooting two-under, 214, over 54 holes and shooting par or better in each of the three rounds.

Kim's weekly award is the third of the season for the Boilermakers, following Linn Andersson's on Oct. 5, and Kim's first weekly recognition Nov. 2, after her second-place finish at the Landfall Tradition. The Boilermaker senior made a team-best 12 birdies in Augusta last weekend, pushing her team-best total to 58 on the season. She's averaging a paltry 72.28 strokes per round, carding 12 of her 18 scores at par or better, and went 3-0 in match play at the Gifford Great 8 Collegiate Match Play event at UCLA. In six stroke-play tournaments this season, Kim has finished in the top-five four times and shot under par for 54 holes on three occasions.

Golfstat.com has Kim ranked as the nation's No. 26 individual golfer, and the highest-ranked individual in the Big Ten, while the Boilermakers are ranked 24th in the nation as a team. Purdue returns to action Monday, heading to Kennesaw State for the Henssler Intercollegiate.
