MILWAUKEE, Wis. - No. 4-seeded Purdue looks for its first Sweet 16 appearance since 2010 when it battles fifth-seeded Iowa State in the Round of 32 on Saturday at 9:45 p.m. ET / 8:45 p.m. CT. The contest will be televised by TBS from the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee.
TEAM NOTES
- Purdue won its first NCAA Tournament game since 2012 with an 80-70 win over Vermont. The win ended the Catamounts' national-best 21-game winning streak. The Boilermakers will now face an equally-hot Iowa State team which has won 10 of its last 11 games and won last weekend's Big 12 Championship.
- Purdue's junior class combined for 52 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists in its 80-70 win over Vermont.
- Purdue is 3-0 in NCAA Tournament games played in Wisconsin. The Boilermakers advanced to the 1969 Final Four out of Wisconsin (2-0 record).
- Purdue is just 8-12 in NCAA Tournament second-round games all-time.
- Purdue's nine NCAA Tournament apperances over the last 11 years (since 2006-07) are the 10th most in the country (Duke, Gonzaga, Kansas, Michigan State, Wisconsin - 11; Louisville, North Carolina, Villanova, Xavier - 10).
- Purdue's 26 wins are tied for the sixth most in school history. Purdue has now won at least 26 games in back-to-back seasons for the third time in school history (2008-09 and 2009-10; 2009-10 and 2010-11; 2015-16 and 2016-17). All three of the occurrences have come under Matt Painter.
- Purdue improved to 19-1 this year in games decided by 10 or more points. Nineteen of Purdue's 26 wins have come by double-digits.
- Purdue improved to 16-2 when shooting 48.0 percent or better from the field. When holding foes under 48.0 percent, Purdue is 23-2.
- Purdue improved to 29-1 since the start of last year when outrebounding its opponent by 10 or more rebounds.
- Purdue needs to make three 3-pointers for 300 on the season. This year's team already holds the school record with 297.
- Purdue had five players score in double-figures for the 10th time this season. Purdue now has five players averaging at least 10.0 points per game.
- Purdue won its league-best 23rd Big Ten Championship and its 12th outright title this year. Purdue won the league crown by two games.
- Purdue has now won two Big Ten regular-season titles in the last eight years. Only Ohio State (3; 2010, 2011, 2012) has more titles in that span.

- Caleb Swanigan set the Big Ten's all-time double-double record with 27, set against Vermont (Jerry Lucas - three times; Brad Sellers - 26)
- Caleb Swanigan's 227 rebounds in Big Ten play were the most since Michigan's Rudy Tomjanovich had 227 in 1970 ... 47 years ago!
- Vincent Edwards needs four assists to become the second player in school history with 1,000 pts, 500 rebs and 300 asts (E'Twaun Moore).
- Dakota Mathias moved into 14th place on the single-season 3-pointers made list (69) and 11th on the career chart (151).
- Matt Painter has won 65.2 percent of his games at Purdue. Legendary coach Gene Keady won 65.5 percent of his games at Purdue (1981-05).
- Purdue has won at least 25 games in six of Painter's 12 years at Purdue and in seven of his 13 years as a collegiate head coach (25 at SIU in 2003-04).
