SOUTH BEND, Ind. -
The Boilermakers wrapped up the non-championships portion of the season Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitation, hosted by Notre Dame. Kiara McIntosh and Jahneya Mitchell led Purdue with strong performances in the 800-meter and 400-meter races, respectively.

McIntosh backed up her 800m performance from the Iowa State Invite last weekend where she ran a career best time of 2:07.38. Saturday, she was just off that pace, winning the event with a time of 2:07.91. Mitchell had her best day as a Boilermaker in the 400m dash. She ran a time of 55.46 seconds, which is more than three seconds faster than her first 400m dash as a Boilermaker a month ago and nearly a second faster than her 400m time last week.

Jacob Hanawalt had a personal record in the mile to finish first among the group of Boilermakers in the race. He crossed the finish line in 4:12.59. Obokhare Ikpefan had his fastest 400m dash of the season, finishing third with a time of 48.50 seconds.

The Boilermakers had three other winners aside from McIntosh on the day. Sarah Loesch won the weight throw with a toss of 19.31 meters (63-4.25), while Jaden Mattox won the long jump with a leap of 5.65m (18-6.50). Katrina May was the pole vault champion after clearing 3.72m (12-2.50).

The Big Ten Championships are next on the schedule. The team will compete for the conference title Friday and Saturday in Geneva, Ohio, at the SPIRE Institute.
