WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The first piece of the Boilermaker softball team’s 2017 schedule was revealed today as the Big Ten announced the ACC/Big Ten Softball Challenge slate.
Purdue will face Louisville and North Carolina twice each in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, during the Feb. 17-19 event. The tournament will pit eight Big Ten teams – Northwestern, Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio State, Purdue, Penn State and Iowa – against ACC foes Florida State, Pittsburgh, NC State, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Louisville, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. The Challenge will take place at four sites: Tallahassee, Florida; Raleigh, North Carolina.; Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and Atlanta.
The Boilermakers participated in the 2016 event, which the Big Ten won 20-12. Purdue went 3-1 in Atlanta, topping Georgia Tech twice and splitting games with Syracuse.
