WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's basketball team will hold its annual fan day on Saturday, Oct. 22, giving fans the chance to meet the team and the first glimpse at the 2016-17 Boilermakers.
Beginning at 10:30 a.m., the Mackey Arena doors will open and fans will have the opportunity to get autographs and pictures with their favorite Boilermakers.
At approximately 12:15 p.m., the team will hold a brief practice session followed by an intrasquad scrimmage.
The event is open to the public and admission is free. The first two (of three) basketball posters featuring Vincent Edwards and Isaac Haas will be available, ticket deals to the men's game vs. Minnesota on Jan. 1 ($10) will be made available and select concession stands around Mackey Arena will be open.
In addition, season (limited quantities remain), single-game, mini plans and group tickets to the general public will also be available for purchase.
It will be Purdue's only public appearance before tipping off the season Nov. 1, with the lone exhibition game of the season against Southern Indiana, beginning at 7 p.m., in Mackey Arena. The regular season then starts Nov. 11, against McNeese State in Mackey Arena.
The Boilermakers return three starters and eight letterwinners from last year's team that posted a 26-9 record and was ranked in the nation's top 25 all year long. This year's team is ranked in the top 20 of nearly all of the preseason polls.
Mini plans and single-game tickets are now on sale to the general public and tickets for the Villanova and Indiana games will only be available with the purchase of mini plans and season tickets.
