Golfweek Preseason Top 25 Poll

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Purdue men's golf team received 27 points in the preseason Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll to sit just outside the top 25 the Golf Coaches Association of America announced today.

Purdue is fifth among "others receiving votes" which places the Boilermakers second among Big Ten teams. Other Big Ten teams mentioned were Illinois (502 points; 3rd), Michigan (8 points; 38th) and Penn State (4 points; 40th).

Defending NCAA runner-up Texas was voted first, while USC, Illinois, Oklahoma State and Vanderbilt round out the top five. Defending national champion Oregon is 15th.

Purdue is coming off its second NCAA Championships appearance in three years under head coach Rob Bradley and is one of just two Big Ten teams to reach the NCAA Championships during that span.

Bradley and newly-hired assistant coach Mitch Krywulycz welcome back four players from last year's team while bringing in a highly-regarded, three-member recruiting class. The Boilermakers open the season Sept. 10 and 11 at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Zionsville, Indiana.
