WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Former Purdue women's golfer Laura Gonzalez Escallon picked up her second tournament victory on the Symetra Tour in the last month this weekend, topping the field at the PHC Classic at Brown Deer Park in Milwaukee. Gonzalez Escallon topped Erynne Lee by making birdie on the 54th and final hole, finishing at 10-under, 206 for the event.

Trailing by one stroke on the final hole, Gonzalez Escallon knocked an 85-yard shot to within one foot of the cup for a tap-in birdie, while Lee left her third shot in the sand and settled for a bogey.

"I was hoping for a playoff at best, which I didn't really want because I played nine holes this morning (resumption of round two)," said Gonzalez Escallon. "I was really just thinking to try and get it to a playoff."

After winning the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship in Battle Creek, Michigan on July 24, Gonzalez Escallon also earned a win in the Potawatomi Cup and secured a $6,000 bonus in the tour standings. In her last six events she's posted five top-10 performances and two wins, vaulting herself to sixth place in the Volvik Race for the Card money list with $59,947 earned in 16 events. She'll play in five of the remaining six events this season, skipping the next even to play in the LPGA Evian Championship in France.

She keeps moving up, up, up on the @volvikUSA Race for @LPGA...@LGEgolf now 6th!
