Introducing WSD's Freshman Class

Aug. 16, 2016

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue women’s swimming and diving is excited to welcome its group of 11 freshmen into the program this week as the university prepares for the first day of classes on Aug. 22.

The group of 11 newcomers includes Australian diver Emily Meaney as well as swimmers Mackenzie Artim (Crown Point), Lea Cecil (Granger), Emily Converse (Grand Rapids, Mich.), Jinq En Phee (Malaysia), Anna Giesler (Holland, Mich.), Courtney Kresl (Fort Wayne), Sophie Levy (Shorewood, Minn.), Kate May (Glen Carbon, Ill.), Natalie Mudd (Fishers) and Reagan Thom (New Albany).

En Phee and Meaney both competed at prestigious international competitions in Rio de Janerio this year. As the Malaysian record holder in the 100 breaststroke, En Phee represented her country in the Olympic Games. Meaney competed on 10-meter at the FINA Diving World Cup in February.

Mudd is among the most versatile swimmers of the group. She was an U.S. Olympic Team Trials qualifier in the 100 backstroke this summer and also excels in the 50 free and 200 individual medley.
