LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Black team outscored the Gold team 36-19 in the second session to win Saturday's Purdue basketball intrasquad scrimmage 64-52 in front of 4,500 fans at Lafayette Jefferson High School.

The scrimmage capped off Purdue's practice schedule for its Spanish trip, which starts tomorrow. The NCAA allows teams taking a foreign trip 10 practices leading up to the trip. The game was moved to Lafayette Jefferson HS after flooding in May damaged the Mackey Arena floor.

Vincent Edwards, Carsen Edwards and Tommy Luce were the only players to win both halves. The scrimmaged was comprised of two, 12-minute halves.

Combined, the Boilermakers shot 46-of-92 (.500) from the field, 13-of-38 (.342) from 3-point range and 11-of-17 (.647) from the free throw line. Purdue had 26 assists against 15 turnovers.

Vincent Edwards led all players in scoring with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting. He added eight rebounds, four assists and one block. Classmate P.J. Thompson added 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting with three steals and two assists. Basil Smotherman scored 17 points with two rebounds while going 7-of-11 from the field.

Isaac Haas scored 16 points with seven rebounds on 6-of-8 shooting, while Caleb Swanigan had 11 points and nine rebounds. Carsen Edwards had 11 points and led the team with six assists.
