C.F. Pachuca / Liga MX / Indy Eleven
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- On the eve of its international friendly with Indy Eleven on Sunday in Downtown Indianapolis, C.F. Pachuca of Liga MX, the top level of the Mexican soccer system, is holding an open practice Saturday evening at Purdue's Boilermaker Soccer Complex.
C.F. Pachuca's training session is free and open to the public from 7 to 8 p.m. at the home pitch of Purdue women's soccer. Seating inside the Boilermaker Soccer Complex and parking will both be available on a first come first serve basis.
Saturday's training session will be Los Tuzos' lone practice in the state of Indiana prior to Sunday's "Champion vs. Campeon" exhibition match against Indy Eleven at 1 p.m. Fans will be able to take in the hour-long session from the stands and angle for autograph and photo opportunities afterwards with members of the Pachuca roster, including veteran goalkeeper and two-time World Cup performer Oscar Perez and U.S. Men's National Team defender Omar Gonzalez. An alumnus of the University of Maryland, Gonzalez was the MLS Defender of the Year in 2011.
The open practice session will include a live remote broadcast by Radio Latina 107.1 FM, with giveaways featuring tickets to Sunday's 1 p.m. international friendly at Carroll Stadium, an Indy Eleven team-autographed jersey and ball.
C.F. Pachuca was the Liga MX playoff champion for the sixth time this season after finishing second in the Clausura Division with an 8-3-6 record. Indy Eleven are in first place in the North American Soccer League, compiling an undefeated 4-0-6 record as of this week.
In April 2014, the Boilermaker Soccer Complex hosted an Indy Eleven-Chicago Fire reserves preseason exhibition game that attracted the largest crowd in stadium history.
