WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermakers will be playing in front of a national television audience live from Belin Court five times in 2016. The team’s home contests vs. Illinois (9/21), Wisconsin (9/30), Penn State (10/14), Rutgers (10/15) and Maryland (11/2) will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
Purdue will take on the Illini at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the first of two contests between the teams in 2016. The Boilermakers and Badgers will lace them up at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 30, to begin that season series. It is a weekend full of Purdue volleyball on Oct. 14 and 15 as the Boilermakers welcome Penn State (8 p.m. Friday) and Rutgers (8:30 p.m. Saturday) to Holloway Gymnasium. A Wednesday, Nov. 2 contest with Maryland (7 p.m.) rounds out the home television schedule.
Several more contests, both home and road, will be streamed online via the BTN Plus format.
Purdue returns seven letterwinners, including three starters, from the 2015 team which went 23-10, finished fifth in the Big Ten and advanced to the NCAA Second Round. The Boilermakers kick off the 2016 season with the Mortar Board Premier, August 26-27 on the home boards of Belin Court. Wyoming, Washington State and Kentucky round out the tournament field.
