INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Purdue women's golf team dropped to fourth place after the second day of competition at the Big Ten Championships, shooting three-over par, 291, at The Fort Golf Resort on Saturday and are two-under par, 574, for the tournament. Junior August Kim had the Boilermakers' top individual score for the second straight day, shooting one-under, 71, to move to four-under, 140, overall.

The Boilermakers remain in contention for the team title, sitting just four shots back from seventh-ranked leader Northwestern at six-under, 570. Ohio State had the best day in the field, shooting seven-under, 281, to surge to second place at four-under, 572, while Michigan shot even-par to move into third at three-under, 573.

Kim came out firing Saturday, making birdie on her first two holes, and rebounding from a bogey on No. 3 to make another birdie on No. 6. She moved all the way down to three-under with another birdie on No. 12, but made bogey on No. 13 and No. 15, still shooting under par for the second straight day. Kim is tied for sixth individually, three shots behind the overall leader, Brooke Ferrell of Wisconsin.

Senior Anna Appert Lund finished even-par Saturday, sinking three birdies to remain two-under, 142, for the tournament and hold on to a tie for 10th place. Sophomore Marta Martin shot one-over, 73, sinking 15 pars on the day, and is tied for 16th at even-par, 144, for the tournament. Martin ran a streak of bogey-free holes to 25 before making one on No. 13 on Saturday.

The final team score was shared by sophomore Linn Andersson and freshman Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri, shooting matching scores of three-over, 75. Putri finished the day with 11 consecutive pars, while Andersson dropped a pair of birdies on the afternoon.

The Boilermakers tee off tomorrow at 8:18 a.m., paired with Penn State and Illinois for the final round.
