Gerbrandt Wins Three Events at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Lew Gerbrandt won a pair of individual events and contributed to a relay win, highlighting the two-day Ohio State Winter Invite for Purdue women's swimming.

Gerbrandt was victorious in the 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley while also swimming the butterfly leg on the Purdue's 200 medley relay. The Boilermakers also won the 200 freestyle relay.

Roxy Griffore was Purdue's top finisher in the freestyle sprints, taking second in the 50 and fourth in the 100. She also anchored the victorious 200 medley relay, teaming with Leah Ritsema, Rachel Ho and Gerbrandt. Griffore had the top prelim time in the 50 free.

Grace Einterz won the B final of the 50 free and anchored the 200 free relay to victory, teaming with Sarah Pushis, Chloe Guhlstorf and Stevie Bauer.

Gerbrandt improved on her prelim time by more than 13 seconds to take the A final of the 200 IM. She out touched Miami's Allison Pierce by .11 hundredths of a second to win the 100 fly.

The Boilermakers travel to Ann Arbor this week for the Big Ten Championships. Action begins Wednesday evening and runs through Saturday.
