WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The track & field teams are set for their biggest meet to date, as the Boilermakers head to Birmingham, Alabama, for the Conference Clash. The meet is set up as a dual, pitting eight Southeastern Conference teams against seven teams from the Big Ten, Pac 12, Atlantic Coast Conference and Big 12.

THE COMPETITION
The teams competing against the SEC are the following schools (ranking men/women):
- Purdue (24/48) - Big Ten
- Arizona (65/37) - Pac 12
- Florida State (35/36) - ACC
- Georgia Tech (72/129) - ACC
- Ohio State (36/57) - Big Ten
- Texas (2/3) - Big 12
- USC (111/7) - Pac 12

The SEC teams competing together are the following (ranking men/women):
- Alabama (5/40)
- Auburn (90/27)
- LSU (14/12)
- Mississippi State (50/30)
- Ole Miss (54/25)
- South Carolina (19/65)
- Tennessee (15/32)
- Vanderbilt* (--/33)
*Vanderbilt does not have a men's program.

FORMAT
The meet will be scored as a dual with 5-3-2-1 scoring, and 5-3 in the relays. The winner of each race receives five points, the runner-up three and the third place finisher earns two and fourth earns one for his or her team - The SEC or Challenging Conferences. In relays, the winning team receives five points, while the other conference earns three. Two score from each team in each event, except relays.

THE HEADLINERS
The Conference Clash pits the Boilermakers against several of the top individuals in the country in each event.
- Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, the currently world leader in the weight throw and No. 6 in the country in the shot put, will be up against three of the country's top five shot putters and the No. 2 weight thrower in the world this year.
- The men's and women's sprints will be a great indicator of where the Boilermakers are this season, as the 60 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter and the relays all have multiple competitors in the top 10 in the country competing.
- The Boilermakers will travel 48 individuals, with 25 women and 23 men, to the meet.
