WILMETTE, Ill. - The Purdue women's golf team battled through 36 holes at the eighth-annual Windy City Collegiate, hosted by Northwestern at Westmoreland Country Club on Monday, and is tied for 10th place in one of the nation's most elite early season fields, shooting nine-over, 585. Senior Anna Appert Lund posted the top individual effort of the day for the Boilermakers, shooting one-under par, 143, and is tied for 16th place overall.

The Boilermakers came out firing Monday morning, playing the first 18 holes at -2, 286, and sitting in fourth place after the first round. Appert Lund led the charge, draining four birdies on her way to a two-under, 70, while junior August Kim followed closely at one-under, 71. The second 18 holes of the day proved tougher for the Old Gold and Black, who just couldn't get things going en route to an 11-over, 299. After making 14 birdies and Putri's eagle in the first round, they made only nine birdies in the second. Appert Lund remained steady, making three of the squad's second-round birdies and finishing one-over, 73. Kim, Putri and sophomore Marta Martin chipped in the other three team scores with marks of 75, 75 and 76, respectively.

Appert Lund is the lone Boilermaker in the top-20 individual standings, while Kim is one stroke outside the top-30 at two-over, 146. Putri sits three-over par, 147, while Martin is six-over, 150, and Andersson is seven-over par, 151.
