WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -Â The Purdue track and field team will be heading to Tucson, Arizona, this weekend to compete in the 2015 Jim Click Shootout on Saturday. The meet begins at 9 a.m. and will feature teams from Arizona, USC, LSU and Illinois.
On the women's side, the Boilermakers will be led by their sprinters, including Twyla Winfrey, Brionna Thomas and Autumn Heath competing in the women's 100 and 200 meter dash. The women's 4x400 meter relay will continue to chase the school record, which was set last season, while Devynne Charlton and Savannah Carson continue to try to move up the program lists in the 100m. Freshman Symone Black is among the relay members and will also be look to continue lowering her personal record in the 400 meter hurdles, where she is already among the top five in school history.
Tyler Askew and Obokhare Ikpefan are among the men scheduled to compete. In the shot put and hammer throw, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will be among the favorites as he is top 20 in the country in both events. The men's 4x400 meter relay team seeks to improve upon their third place finish last weekend at the Florida Relays and has been running well over the last couple meets. Moussa Conde is scheduled to compete in multiple events, including the 100 meter dash, 110 meter hurdles and 4x400 meter relay.
